The right Path

I was listening to the radio and heard a man talking about his first signing bonus. After he received his first big cheque his wife was diagnosed with illness, and ended up using that cheque to almost the penny in medical bills. He explained that, that was a god thing. He was Garth Brooks.

When you are competing you have to understand that, you can prepare, you can get gritty, you can haul, you can stay home, you can go to select numbers. When it is your turn to win, nothing will stop you.

The same in reverse goes, when it is not your turn, nothing will go right.

My dear friend Lisa Lockhart once explained to me on the road, that winning can be like a light switch. When that switch is on, you can do no wrong. You will win everywhere you go. And when that switch is off, you will have hell.

I have witnessed and experienced this. Honestly I’m not sure what causes that switch to turn either way. So I have to agree with Garth, that is a god thing.

I’m a believer that winning is easy, it’s the work to get there that is hard. When you do start winning and getting on a “roll”, it’s easy. It’s just like breathing. It has a flow to things.

The work factor is hard. It’s rough. It’s the missed opportunity, it’s the late nights loping circles, it’s the frustration factor, it’s the want to give up, but the will not to. It’s exactly what makes it worth it.

It’s the number one factor that is free to everyone.  Sweat equity.

Whether it’s hard or not you have to trust and believe you are on the right path. You need to know the hard so you don’t quit once it’s not easy. You have to have the patience and faith to believe that light switch will turn. And your time to win will happen.

“Sweat equity is the most valuable equity there is.”
